Finally Here!

Well after a long journey, we have finally arrived here in Iran. We landed in Tehran around 2:30 AM local time and then proceeded to drive to Esfahan, which took another three hours but that was fine. Our flight from Frankfurt to Tehran was much better and shorter than the flight from SFO to Frankfurt, mainly because we were flying aboard an Airbus A430. What an amazing, and yet quiet plane that is. My own car is louder from the inside of the passenger cabin than that airplane! Anyways, the drive to Esfahan was wonderful. We were greeted by two of my cousins, Mohammad Housein and Eisan, along with my uncle Hassan. The drive was long, however it was great getting to catch up with family that we have not had the chance to see for many years. And besides, the seats in the car were much more comfortable than those on the airplane.

We are staying here in Esfahan for a few days, as we'll go around and see all of the historical sites and attractions before the Persian New Year in a few weeks. We just got back from a wonderful lunch, and now my cousin is going to take a nap since he had been up most of the night from picking us up and whatnot. On top of that, he had his last day of the school semester today.

I will try and upload some pictures when I find a faster internet connection, likely in Shiraz. My cousin only stays at this location two to three days per week, so all he needs is a 56k internet connection to check email and whatnot. I hope all is well in the States, I'll be in touch soon!
