Welcome

Hey folks, thanks for stopping by. I plan to use this space initially over the course of my upcoming trip to Iran. I leave on March 11th from SFO and I will stop in Frankfurt, Germany. From there I will fly directly into Tehran (after an 8 hour layover in Frankfurt). I will be traveling with my father and I plan to post as many photos as possible.

We will initially stay in Tehran for a few days, then we will go to Isfahan and visit with family and friends, then we will fly to Shiraz where we will spend the bulk of our time. We will celebrate the Persian New Year in Shiraz, which coincides with the first day of spring, March 20th. After we spend some time in Shiraz, we will fly to the beautiful island resort of Kish, located in the southwest on the Persian Gulf. Kish is basically the Iranian version of Dubai. Kish is not only one of the most beautiful areas of the country, it is a port city and free trade zone, as well as one of the more liberal areas of the country. We will fly back to Shiraz after we spend some time in Kish and if time allows, we will visit Iran's other port city, Bandar Abbas. I also intend to visit Persepolis, the site of the tomb of Cyrus the Great.

Along with all of the traveling throughout the country, we will be visiting with numerous family members, both immediate and distant. The meals we will share with these folks will be aplenty.

I will try my best to keep you updated on this page, through email (if you give me your email address), via Myspace and Facebook. I figure I might as well attempt to share this experience with as many people as possible.
